Neato Botvac D7
The Neato Botvac D7 Connected is one of the most powerful robot vacuums on the market, providing top performance on floors with no carpet, high-pile carpet, and pet hair. Its maneuverability, ease of maintenance, and power are all top-of-the-line. However, it is less suited to hard surfaces due to the fact that it isn't able to mop. It has a high price and regular costs.
As with the other models of the Neato Botvac line, this model has a distinctive "D" shape that gives it two angles to clean through corners and walls better than round competitors. Its turret is home to the Botvision sensors that scan and map your home to provide superior navigation.
Setting up robot vacuum that empties itself is straightforward: you set up a Wi-Fi connection and download the Neato app and follow the instructions to connect the vacuum to your home's wireless router. Once connected the app lets you to create an automated cleaning routine and choose from a variety modes. They include House, which performs the full automatic cleaning process; Spot, which lets you select an area for targeted cleaning; and Manual that lets you control the bot using a directional pad.
When fully charged, D7 begins to learn your floorplan by creating a digital plan of your space. After the map is completed, it'll begin cleaning. This process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, but it could be shortened if you choose Eco mode.
The D7's indicator for battery will light up yellow when it is close to being depleted. It will be green when fully charged. The D7 has a larger battery than the D8. It can run up to two hours in its maximum "Turbo" mode.
While the D7 does a terrific job of cleaning floors with no dirt however, it can get stuck on furniture legs and feet and can't move easily up or down steps. It will send you a notification when it is stuck.
Dyson Ball Multi-Floor Cleaner
The Multi-Floor cleaner is an upright vacuum that utilizes Radial Root Cyclone Technology to maximize suction. The brush bar has been reconfigured to make the bristles smaller and stiffer, allowing it to penetrate carpet fibers further and remove more dirt without damaging them. It also has an updated floorhead that automatically adjusts between carpets and hard floors and seals in suction. The wand and hose are released in a smooth motion, making it much easier to reach under or high furniture. It has a whole-machine HEPA filter, which means that allergens and bacteria will be sucked up within the machine instead of being emitted back into your home.
The Multi Floor is a fantastic option for those suffering from allergies or asthma. Its suction is powerful and allows it to remove dirt and other debris from your flooring. This includes a variety of tiny particles that are normally scattered throughout the air. It also performs well on both low and high-pile carpet. It has an extended cord that makes it easy to move around your home.

It's a bit heavier than other vacuums that we tested, but still portable and easy to move around from room to room. It also comes with a bagless dust bin that can be emptyed with just a push of a switch. The bin can hold 0.6 cubic feet of dirt and its transparent body lets you know when it's full.
It wasn't as well on floors with no carpet as the Hoover WindTunnel 2 Whole House Rewind however, it was a success in cleaning up rice and kitty litter from carpeted floors. It also removes more sand from carpets with medium pile than the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe. It's also easier to maintain and has no cost per year than the BISSELL Zing Bagless Canister.
Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner
The Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner is a upright without bags that has powerful suction and an affordable price. It's a great vacuum for cleaning dust, pet hair and other debris from carpets and hard floors. It's not the best vacuum in its class and it tends to lose performance when the dirt compartment gets overflowing. This could be a problem when you have a lot of furniture and large amounts of pet hair around.
The design is easy to maneuver and relatively robust, but some users felt it was a bit heavy for this type vacuum. Its cord is a bit small, even though it can retract automatically. One feature that a lot of users appreciate is that it can handle the transition between hard and carpeted floors without needing to turn off the vacuum.
The main selling point of this model is the QuickPass brush roll that allows you to remove surface debris in just one pass. The patent-pending WindTunnel 3 Technology also creates suction channels that lift and eliminate dirt from the surface, as well as dirt that is deeply embedded. This is enhanced by a filter made from HEPA media and a layer of carbon to absorb odors.
Another feature that this vacuum comes with is the rewinding system. The rewind system allows you to remove a few feet at a time, instead of having to unwind the entire cord. It comes with a range of hose tools for reaching hard-to-reach areas.
The Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner is good at cleaning bare floors but not so well with large debris or pet hair. It can also be a struggle with rugs that have high pile. In this area, it would rank with the BISSELL PowerForce Helix. The latter model is better-built, has a slightly larger bin, and is simpler to maintain with fewer recurring expenses.
Hoover WindTunnel's filters can be rinsed and should only be cleaned if it shows signs of contamination. This is a great way to reduce the need for replacement filters and also keep your home cleaner for longer.
